Helium and Hydrogen Leak Test

The VTech 75, Tracer Gas Sniffing Leak Test System combines pressure and tracer gas leak testing in one integrated system, for low-medium productivity operations. It can be configured as follows:

• Standard configuration with slope top enclosure
• Integrated safety hood and conveyor system for high pressure testing
• “Split” system for separating pressure decay and tracer gas sniffing tests.

The VTech UNO-HE, Tracer Gas Sniffing Leak Test System is designed for leak testing of coils and other components as well as refrigeration and A/C sealed systems in a high production environment. The VTech UNO-HE is fully customizable in terms of test pressure, evacuation, equipment lay-out, and other features in order to meet the most diverse process requirements. For test pressures over 20 bar (290 psig) VTech recommends the use of safety devices (such as protection hoods) for the operator. In a typical cycle, the VTech UNO-H Series performs a Burst Test / Pressure Decay Test, followed by a vacuum cycle and tracer gas filling (Helium or Hydrogen mix) and can include an optional capillary flow test and Helium recovery.

The MasSpec, Automatic Outside-In Helium Leak Test System is an automatic helium leak tester capable of detecting leaks in the range of 5 x 10-6 mbar l/s, equivalent to approx. 0.1 oz. of refrigerant per year, in coils, components or refrigeration systems.

It involves pulling a deep vacuum inside the unit under test (UUT) and introducing low-pressure helium in the surrounding enclosure. Any resulting helium leakage inside the UUT is detected by the attached mass spectrometer. The test result is Pass/Fail. In order to locate the leaking point, a manual sniffer leak detector must be used.

The VTech VacuTester is capable of detecting very small leaks, in the range of 1 x 10-7 mbar l/s, equivalent to 0.03 oz. of refrigerant per year, in coils, components or refrigeration systems. It is particularly suitable for high productivity operations.
It involves pulling a deep vacuum in the chamber containing the unit under test (UUT) and injecting high pressure helium into it. Any resulting helium leakage is detected by the integrated mass spectrometer. The test result is Pass/Fail. In order to locate the leaking point, a manual sniffer leak detector must be used.
